Delivering a connected MemEx Member Portal that transformed member self-service, strengthened engagement and created a modern digital experience for more than 16,000 registered users.

Summary

The Institute of Physics & Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) partnered with Wattle to deliver a new MemEx Member Portal integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365. Supporting more than 4,600 members and over 16,000 registered users, the platform introduced self-service membership management, streamlined operational processes and created a modern digital experience that continues to evolve as part of a long-term technology partnership.

Client

The Institute is the UK's professional body for physicists, engineers and technologists working in medicine. With members across healthcare, academia and industry, the Institute promotes innovation, professional standards and the advancement of physics and engineering to improve patient care.

Challenge

IPEM wanted to modernise the way members interacted with the organisation by replacing fragmented online services with a single, connected digital experience. Existing member journeys relied on multiple systems, creating unnecessary administration for staff and a less intuitive experience for members.

The organisation needed a secure self-service platform that integrated seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics 365 while providing the flexibility to expand new digital services over time.

Paul James

We’re delighted to be strengthening our partnership with Wattle with the delivery of our digital platforms onto MemEx. The platform is helping us deliver real value and positive impact for our stakeholders and drive greater strategic engagement.

I would use Wattle again tomorrow.

Paul James, Director of Communities, IPEM

Solution

Working in partnership with IPEM, Wattle delivered a new MemEx Member Portal through a phased implementation, ensuring essential services were available alongside the launch of the Institute's new Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM before expanding the platform with additional functionality.

The portal provides members with a single destination to manage memberships, book events, submit abstracts, update professional information, access groups and committees, manage expenses and complete online payments. Fully integrated with Dynamics 365, the solution delivers a seamless experience for members while reducing administrative effort and providing a scalable foundation for future digital innovation.
